The show duplicates the locations from the South Korean series, as well as some games (without hard violence). In the trailer, you can see a creepy doll from the “red-green light” test, a game with cookies, or jumping on a glass bridge. The participants are also dressed in green suits with numbers, but of course, they will not be killed in the show – instead, bags of artificial blood will “explode” on the suits for realism.

At the same time, at the beginning of the year, the Netflix reality show was already in the news when several participants needed medical attention during filming.

The 10-episode reality show will debut on Netflix on November 22.

  • The original “Squid Game” was released in 2021 and quickly became the most popular series on Netflix (viewers spent 1.65 billion hours watching the first season). In the story, debtor Song Gi Hoon receives an invitation to a game with a chance to win a huge cash prize. He then joins 455 other people like him who are trying to solve their financial problems by going through deadly challenges.
  • In June 2022, Netflix officially announced the second season, and filming began in July 2023. Director Hwang Dong-hyuk took up the job again, confirming the return of Song Gi-hoon and the game host.

In April, Netflix announced that it would spend $2.5 billion on the production of Korean TV series and movies over the next 4 years. According to the streaming service, in 2022, 6 out of 10 viewers watched a South Korean program on the site.
