💡The idea to create such a show came to Steve Martin about 10 years ago. Initially, the characters were supposed to be three retirees who are obsessed with solving crimes but are too old and tired to go out.

😢In August 2022, Steve Martin said in an interview that this would probably be his last appearance in a movie, as he does not intend to look for new, even episodic, roles after the TV series is finished.

🙃Anne Stringfield, Steve Martin’s wife, also plays in the series, and this is her first professional acting job. Her role is one of the assistants to the podcast host, played by Tina Fey. Anne Stringfield looks very similar to this actress, and this resemblance has led to many media comments and jokes. For example, in 2015, Tina Fey, presenting the AFI (American Film Institute) award to Martin for lifetime achievement, joked: “I’ve learned so much from you, Steve, and I can’t tell you how grateful I am to have met you. You’ve helped me in so many ways and in so many ways: appearing on SNL…marrying a woman who is a younger, thinner, smarter version of me just to keep me moving forward.”

🤝Steve Martin and Martin Short are longtime friends. They met on the set of the movie “Three Amigos!” (1986) and starred together in several films, including “Father of the Bride” (two parts).

🎙The crime podcast, which is a fan favorite, is based on the investigative journalism podcast Serial, hosted by Sarah Koenig. Tina Fey, who plays the podcast host in the series, has a similar name – Cinda Canning.

😱And if you don’t see a button with the number 13 in the elevator, don’t be surprised. Like most real old high-rise residences, Arconia from the series does not have a 13th floor. (By the way, the fear of everything related to the number 13 – a floor, a hotel room, a seat on an airplane, etc. is called triscadecaphobia).
