According to Variety, citing Amazon MGM Studios representative Vernon Sanders, Gen V has become the No. 1 series on Prime Video in more than 130 countries, so the decision to renew it was obvious.

“Gen V is Prime Video’s most popular new original series of 2023, and we are thrilled that our incredible cast and crew will continue to bring the bold and daring stories of Gen V to our customers,” Sanders said.

It is noteworthy that the studio decided to announce the series’ renewal even before the first season finale – the seventh and eighth episodes of Gen V will be released only on October 27 and November 3, 2023.

It is worth noting that Amazon Prime Video is also currently finalizing the fourth season of the series The Boys. Fans had hoped that the show’s sequel would be released by the end of 2023, as its filming was completed in the spring. However, in the summer of 2023, showrunner Eric Kripke announced that the release of the new season would be postponed until the strike of the US Writers Guild ended. As a result, the strike ended in early October 2023, but the release date for Season 4 of The Boys was never announced.
