The last role of the legendary Michael Caine: why you should watch The Great Escaper

“There are no leading roles for 90-year-olds” – with these words, the legendary British actor Michael Caine finally confirmed the end of his career. On October 19, the last film with his participation, the adventure drama comedy The Great Escaper, will be released in cinemas.

Based on a true story

The film is based on a true story that made headlines around the world about 89-year-old British World War II veteran Bernard Jordan, who escaped from a nursing home in Hove in 2014 to attend an event in France dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Normandy landings. But he could not escape quietly: the man’s disappearance caused a real stir in his hometown.
